Frequently asked questions
What is BCM?
BCM stands for billion cubic microns per square inch, the imperial measure of how much ink an anilox roll can carry. A higher BCM means larger or deeper cells and a heavier ink film.
What is cm³/m²?
Cubic centimetres per square metre is the metric measure of anilox cell volume. 1 BCM equals 1.55 cm³/m², so a 2.5 BCM roll carries about 3.9 cm³/m².
Why are there two unit systems for anilox specifications?
North American suppliers usually quote LPI and BCM, while most other markets use L/cm and cm³/m², so rolls and job specifications often mix the two. Converting between them avoids ordering or specifying the wrong roll.
